Maddy Molina, Editor-in-Chief
Maddy Molina is a senior studying Environmental Science on the policy track. She became involved in SURJ as a sophomore and is excited to serve as Editor-in-Chief this year! She is also involved with Variant Dance Troupe where she has also choreographed. In her free time, she enjoys reading, spending time with friends, and eating too much ice cream.
Sarah Hughes, Editor of Peer Review
Sarah Hughes is a junior studying Environmental Science on the Earth Systems track. She has conducted research with Clark’s Human-Environment Regional Observatory on the urban heat island effect in Worcester and land change modeling. Outside of class, she enjoys hiking and rock climbing with the Outing Club and exploring the best swimming holes around the city.
Liz Mahon, Editor of Peer Review
Liz Mahon is a Junior majoring in biology and psychology. This is her second year with SURJ. Liz works as a research assistant with professor Nancy Budwig researching the college preparedness of high school seniors. In her free time, she enjoys hiking, cooking, and embroidery.
Dawn Chinagorom-Abiakalam, Deputy Editor of Peer Review
Dawn Chinagorom-Abiakalam is a sophomore double majoring in economics and math. On campus, she serves as the Liaison Chair for the Caribbean and African Students’ Association. In the future, Dawn hopes to continue to explore her research interests in development and urban economics.
Sarah Kersting-Mumm, Deputy Editor of Peer Review
Sarah Kersting-Mumm is a sophomore double majoring in Sociology and Political Science on the American Politics and Public Policy Track with a concentration in Law & Society. She is part of the Pre-Law Society and intends to go to law school after Clark. She joined SURJ during her freshmen year as a peer reviewer. Outside of the classroom, Sarah is on the Women’s Varsity Swim Team and a member of Clarkies 4 Kindness. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with friends, cooking, and eating way too much chocolate.
Alli Raymond, Deputy Editor of Peer Review
Alli Raymond is a Junior and a biology major at Clark. They work as an assistant lab technician in the biology department and conduct research focusing on molecular and drosophila genetics in Dr. Thackeray’s lab. After their undergraduate degree, they plan on staying at Clark for the fifth year accelerated master’s program for biology with the hope of continuing research in genetics after college.
Sasha Ganon, Editor of Copy Editing
Sasha Gannon is a Sophomore majoring in Geography with a concentration in Urban Studies. This is her first year with SURJ and she’s so excited to be a part of all the amazing work they do this year! After her undergraduate degree, Sasha hopes to stay at Clark for the fifth year accelerated master’s program in GIS, with the hope of pursuing work in Environmental Science and Justice. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her friends, listening to music, and hiking.
Kim Nguyen, Editor of Copy Editing
Kim Nguyen is a senior studying Biochemistry and Molecular Biology at Clark. She joined SURJ in her first year as a peer reviewer and a copy editor. Kim is working on various research projects using peptides to develop therapeutics for cancer and Alzheimer’s disease. She is also a peer mentor and a student committee member of the Biology Department of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Council. In her free time, she enjoys traveling and exploring new things.
Jonathan Hoff, Editor of Design and Layout
Jonathan Hoff is a senior studying Computer Science and is excited to join SURJ as one of the Editors of Design and Layout. His research involves human-computer interaction and content moderation in online platforms. Jonathan also performs with the Clark Chamber and Concert vocal ensembles and is an active member of TIE, the university’s premier student organization for STEM entrepreneurship. Outside of his busy schedule, Jonathan enjoys cycling, reading, and finding new ways of being creative.
Kasturi Thonangi, Editor of Design and Layout
Kasturi Thonangi is a senior studying Studio Art and Psychology and is excited to join SURJ as one of the Editors of Design and Layout. Outside of the classroom Kasturi is on the Counseling Center’s Student Advisory Board and works at ITS. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with friends, reading, and painting.
