- Add value to your existing degree with expanded knowledge and skills.
- Pursue an individualized curriculum on your terms with online and evening classes and affordable tuition.
Students in the Certificate of Advanced Study (CAGS) program develop a study plan that outlines their interests and maps out compatible courses. We offer courses in such areas as conflict management, intercultural communication, administration, marketing communications, human resources, cyber security, new media technologies, and much more.
Any course offered for graduate credit at the School of Professional Studies (SPS) may be selected for this degree. Students may also create their own electives based on readings or research that is approved by an instructor. In addition to regular coursework, students must complete a capstone project to demonstrate their professional competencies.

Graduates of Clark’s School of Professional Studies go on to apply their degree in industries that include nonprofits, municipal and state government, education, communications, information technology, health care, and finance. Equipped with additional, complementary skills, thanks to the CAGS, you’ll have the breadth of knowledge to make a profound impact outside of your primary field. You will be set up to collaborate easily with colleagues in other positions and industries. A CAGS degree can create new opportunities for your own professional advancement.
The School of Professional Studies’ CAGS program is ideally suited for working professionals who have already obtained a master’s degree but want to strengthen their competencies in a new area. The skills you gain depend on the program you design. They add breadth to your existing degree and work experience. You can draw from any graduate course offered through the School of Professional Studies.
