The twelve-unit curriculum enhances spatial analytic skills through courses that integrate geospatial and time-series theory with practical application methods. The Master’s degree provides essential skills in four main areas:
geospatial modelling, conservation GIS,
land change analysis,
and programming (R and Python).
Clark’s Accelerated B.A. | Master of Science Degree in Geographic Information Science is an interdisciplinary collaboration between the Department of Sustainability and Social Justice, the Graduate School of Geography and Center for Geospatial Analytics.
The 4+1 Accelerated Master’s in Geographic Information Science requires the completion of 12 graduate-level courses/units overall. The program currently has two tracks: the thesis track and the internship track.

Clark GIS alumni are engaged in meaningful careers around the world, working with environmental groups, international NGOs, software development companies, and government agencies. Around 10% of our graduates go on to pursue their doctorate.
Eligibility
The program is open to students who meet the prerequisites and GPA requirements; all undergraduate majors at Clark are welcome to apply. In recent years, students have typically come from undergraduate programs in geography, global environmental studies, economics, international development and social change, and environmental science.
