In January 2015, University Provost formed an Ad Hoc Committee on Intellectual Property (IP) Policy composed of faculty and staff, including a consultant technology transfer advisor, and charged them to provide recommendations on a revised IP policy to update the then current policy established in 2000. The committee developed Clark’s current IP policy which was reviewed by faculty governance, including the Steering Committee in spring 2015. Three open fora for faculty, staff and students were also held in the spring semester to discuss the main new and changing areas being addressed in the new policy. The policy was reviewed and approved by senior leadership prior to its adoption effective September 1, 2015.
*NOTE: In 2024, a similar planning process is underway to review and revise the current IP policy.
