The annual health, dental, and flexible spending program open enrollment period begins mid-October and continues through mid-November.

Annual Open Enrollment

During Open Enrollment full-time employees who are eligible to participate in Clark’s group health, dental, and flexible spending account benefits are allowed to select or change their coverage for the coming plan year.

Important Information Regarding Health/Dental Insurance and FSA Enrollment

You are eligible to enroll in medical and/or dental group plans if you are full time employee working a minimum of 30 hours per week or a part-time faculty member working three (3) or more classes per semester.

Important Dates

  • Open Enrollment Period: October 15 – November 21, 2024
  • Submission Deadline for Enrollment/Change Forms: November 21, 2024
  • Enrollments and changes take effect:  January 1, 2025

Action Required

  • If you are not making changes:
    • No action is required. Your current 2024 benefits will automatically be carried forward.
  • If you are making changes:
    • Submit your enrollment forms for health, dental, and FSA by November 21, 2024.
    • You may access health and dental enrollment forms via the Harvard Pilgrim and BCBS Dental tiles at the Showcase™ by PERKS portal on the Clark University Human Resources link and the respective vendor tiles.
    • Submit completed forms using the Secure Upload Link—do not email forms to protect against identity theft.

FSA Enrollment

  • To participate in the Flexible Spending Account (FSA) for 2025, you must submit a new enrollment form during this period. You can locate the FSA enrollment form on both the 2025 Open Enrollment & Flores tiles on the Showcase™ by PERKS portal.
  • If you have FSA funds available at the end of 2024, and you do not wish to contribute to the 2025 FSA, you can carry the balance from 2024 forward if you are still an active employee of Clark. The maximum that can be rolled over into 2025 is $640.

Plan Information

  • Medical and Dental Plan Details: Forms are available in the 2025 annual open enrollment tile and the HPHC and BCBS tiles on the Showcase™ by PERKS portal.  Plan details can be found in the respective HPHC and BCBS Ma enrollment tiles.
  • All enrollment forms: Must be uploaded to the Human Resources internal Secure Upload Link.

What’s New for 2025

  • Health Coverage Premiums: Increasing by 5.9%, but Clark’s contribution remains unchanged.
  • Dental Premiums: No change.
  • New Network Providers: UMASS Memorial and Sturdy Memorial Hospitals are now part of the FOCUS Network.

  • Showcase™ by PERKS: Access a virtual open enrollment experience at your convenience. Create your account using your @clarku.edu email in Chrome or Firefox.
  • Once your account has been created you will have access to HPHC, BCBS, and Flores in addition to other benefit provider information. 

Important Reminders

Additional FSA Information

  • 2024 FSA Reimbursement Deadline:  Claims incurred through December 31, 2024 must be submitted no later than March 31, 2025.
  • 2024 FSA participants with Health Care FSA balances of $640 or less will have those funds available in 2025. (Claims for the 2024 play year must be submitted for reimbursement no later than March 31, 2025).
  • In the event the IRS increases the annual Healthcare FSA limit – 2025 FSA Healthcare participants electing the maximum amount will automatically have their election amount adjusted to the new annual maximum limit for a Healthcare FSA.
  • The 2024 annual healthcare FSA limit is: $3,200. 2025 to be announced by the IRS.
