Documents are listed alphabetically:

Safety Data Sheets (SDS)
Safety Data Sheets (SDS) contain specific information about the nature of a substance and the hazards associated with it. There is not a set format for these documents, but all of them must contain the following information:
Company Information
Substance Identity and Hazardous Ingredients
Physical and Chemical Characteristics
Fire and Explosion Hazard Data
Health Hazard Data
Reactivity Data
Spill or Leak Clean-up Procedures
Special Protection Information
Special Precautions for Safe Handling and Use
The law requires that these documents must be in English and available to all employees and students working with or near the substance. They must be made available to their workers. Please mail a copy to Frank Abell. The copy is then placed in the main cabinet located in Rm. S108. This room is also known as the “Safety Office”.
The SDS can be obtained from the chemical supplier or manufacturer. An SDS must either accompany or precede the shipment. If the SDS is not received, the supervisor must obtain one as soon as possible by contacting the chemical supplier.
Each chemical has a CAS (Chemical Abstracts Service) number in the following format:
This CAS number should be used to look up all chemicals instead of their IUPAC name. The CAS number is located on the bottle of every chemical.
