D’Army Bailey Diversity Fund
The goal of this fund is to support campus initiatives and academic endeavors that advance and help sustain an inclusive, engaged campus.
give todayThis fund will have three major components to support our efforts to create an inclusive and productive working and learning environment.
Supporting Students:
Through scholarships and other efforts, this fund will aid talented students from historically underrepresented backgrounds to access and finance their education at Clark. These students demonstrate commitment to their academics and engagement in the Clark community, but may have difficulty funding a portion of their education or related expenses.* To execute our commitment to inclusion, Clark must help eliminate any barriers, including financial, that prevent students — particularly first-generation and/or low income students — from continuing their college education.
Supporting Faculty:
The fund will assist in the recruitment and retention of a more diverse faculty. It also will provide critical support for faculty to diversify the curriculum, develop academic programming and lectures, and support the work of the Center for Gender, Race, and Area Studies, the unit that serves as the hub for academic endeavors in diversity and inclusion.
Supporting Campus Initiatives:
The fund will cultivate campuswide efforts to create a more welcoming, inclusive and engaged campus community. Clark most recently administered a campus climate survey in Fall 2023 to ensure all can thrive and succeed in a productive working and learning environment. This fund will support key initiatives in response to the data collected.
*The grants will provide supplementary funding in areas affecting students’ persistence and success, such as tuition, books, unexpected financial expenses, study abroad fees, or costs related to internships and job attainment.
Requests for funding will be reviewed by the Associate Director of DEI Training and Education and/or designees. They will collaboratively assess the eligibility and financial need of each applicant. These grants will vary in amount based upon availability of funds and the number of requests received.
