WORCESTER, Mass. - It's been days since the Associated Press called the Presidential Race for Joe Biden, but President Donald Trump has yet to concede.
It's something a local political expert says could lead to an issue with national security going forward.
The Trump Administration has filed a number of lawsuits in various states. Clark professor Dr. Mark Miller says almost all of those lawsuits are being thrown out after short consideration.
Dr. Miller says it doesn't appear they have a coherent legal strategy and have not presented any credible evidence of fraud or major problems in those states.
Dr. Miller said typically when the loser in the election concedes, especially if there is a transfer of power between parties, a transition starts including national security briefings for the president elect.
"Part of the problem is some countries around the world want to take advantage of the chaos in the United States. It's always a difficult time whenever there is a transition between political parties but this time is especially difficult with the President refusing to concede and I think there is a concern other countries around the world will take advantage of this leadership vacuum if the President-elect is not aware of a variety of things that he should be aware of,” said Dr. Miller.
Miller expects at some point the Biden Administration will file lawsuits of its own, trying to move Trump appointees in the Federal Government to start the official transition process.
