Belonging Talks

The Integration and Belonging Hub hosts the annual Belonging Talks speaker series, a forum that brings well respected scholars, practitioners, and community partners to campus. Past events have included Gaisu Yari, director of Afghan Voices of Hope on the Afghan refugee experience and what belonging looks like in host countries; doctoral candidate Sandra Grudić drawing upon her refugee and non-refugee experiences to reflect on belonging; Graeme Rodgers, senior researcher at the International Rescue Committee (IRC) on compassion and the lived experience of refugee resettlement practitioners; Nichole Argo, founder and co-director of Needham Resilience Network on local models of integration; and Alfred Babo and Anita Fábos, co-founders of Share the Platform on collaborative strategies for refugee integration in academia.

The events are sponsored by the Department of Sustainability and Social Justice and other campus partners, including the School of Professional Studies and the Office of Diversity and Inclusion.
