Food, Migration, and Belonging in Thessaloniki
In the Summer of 2024, eleven students traveled to Thessaloniki, Greece in order to study migration and belonging through the lens of food. For the first two weeks, students learned all they could about this city of movement and its history from experts in many different fields, including scholars, journalists, and activists. Then, with help from undergraduate journalism students from Aristotle University, student groups interviewed people from three different neighborhoods of Thessaloniki in order to find the migration and food stories that have transformed and continue to transform this city.
