Yue Gao’s research focuses on the impacts of public policies and information technology on firms and people’s behavior. She employs applied econometrics and machine learning methods to analyze large-scale datasets to gain a better understanding of business and individual behavior and its theoretical foundation, providing insights to inform theories and decision-makers in the areas of environmental and sustainable development, and healthcare management. Gao has presented her work at various academic conferences, including International Conferences on Digital Government Research, Decision Sciences Institute Annual Conferences, the Association of Environmental and Resources Economists Annual Summer Conferences, and INFORMS Annual Meetings. In addition to working as a researcher in the U.S. Census – Boston Research Data Center, she has taught Financial Econometrics, Machine Learning, Options, Futures, and Other Derivatives, and Investment strategies at the School of Management of Clark University since 2018. Gao earned her doctorate in Economics and a Master of Science in Finance both from Clark University.
