Dr. Khlad Aboalayon is currently an Academic Director for the Master Data Analytics Program at Clark University in Worcester, MA. Prior to joining Clark, he worked as a post-doctoral researcher in the Biomedical Engineering field at the University of Bridgeport in Bridgeport, CT, collaborating with the Digital/Biomedical Embedded Systems and Technology (D-BEST) research laboratory. He received his B.Sc. degree in Computer Science from Sebha University, Libya, and his M.Sc. degree in Intelligent Systems from the University of Utara, Malaysia. Dr. Aboalayon earned his Ph.D. in Computer Science and Engineering from the University of Bridgeport and holds a Professional Certificate in Data Science Analytics from Framingham State University, MA. Dr. Aboalayon’s research interests are in the area of Data Science & Analytics and Signal Processing. He is especially interested in employing Machine Learning techniques and Statistical methods to deliver better healthcare. His research ideas contribute to advanced models and methods that enhance Signal Processing and Machine Learning for bio-physiological signals in general and EEG signals in particular. His objective is to use science, analysis, and technology to solve real-world problems and improve existing systems that primarily serve human health needs, such as sleep disorders, epilepsy, and fatigue detection.
