Join Clark Arts for an evening of an eclectic mix of composed and improvised music written and arranged by Clark University Jazz Workshop & Combos Director, Jerry Sabatini, spanning the traditions of American Jazz, Blues, Folk, Rock, Balkan Brass Bands, and Klezmer!

BIO: Jerry Sabatini has gained wide recognition in the Boston jazz scene as an adventurous, creative and diverse trumpet player, improviser, composer, arranger, and educator. Jerry’s influences range from the music of traditional combo, big band, and avant-garde jazz, to Eastern European Roma brass bands, Middle Eastern, Indian, Asian, European, and American Classical music, as well as American blues, pop, rock, soul, and funk. He earned a Masters of Music degree in Contemporary Improvisation at the New England Conservatory of Music in Boston and performs and records often in the US, Europe, and the Middle East with some of the world’s most innovative musicians and bands. In 1995 Jerry founded the progressive jazz ensemble, Sonic Explorers, which he currently leads and performs on trumpet and flugelhorn as well as composes and arranges the band’s repertoire. Sonic Explorers have five independently released CDs under Jerry’s direction. His discography includes over fifty full-length album recordings in a wide breadth of musical styles. He is a frequently commissioned composer, arranger, and director of Jazz education programs and ensembles as well as a teacher of Jazz History. Jerry is currently affiliated as an adjunct teacher at Clark University in Worcester, MA, Cushing Academy in Ashburnham, MA, and Indian Hill Music in Littleton, MA.
