Join the Clark University Film Screening Society and Office of Identity, Student Engagement, and Access for a two-night event: a double feature of “Black Panther” and “Wakanda Forever.” Both films highlight the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s fictional country of Wakanda and the real-world concept of Afrofuturism: a cultural aesthetic that combines science-fiction, history, and fantasy to explore the African American experience and connect those from the Black diaspora with their forgotten African ancestry.
The first part of our double screening features “Black Panther,” the film that first introduced us to Wakanda and the journey of King T’Challa as he is forced to reconcile the heritage and history of Wakanda with the truth of the Black experience in the world beyond its walls. We will screen “Black Panther: Wakanda Forever” on March 1.
Join us to celebrate Black lives and experiences on the silver screen. This event is open to the public.
