Since finishing his 5th year at Clark in 2010, Mike Smith has spent his career working in and around state government and Democratic politics. He’s run several winning state legislative and statewide campaigns and has worked as the Field Director and Deputy Executive Director of the CT Democratic Party. Since 2015, Mike has worked in the private sector doing government relations. He currently works at Rome, Smith, Lutz & Kowalski, which is one of the top firms in Connecticut, servicing nearly 80 clients that range the spectrum from local nonprofits to fortune 500 companies. In 2022, he was the Democratic candidate for state house and waged a robust campaign against a well-liked incumbent. He lost that race, but he subsequently ran and was elected to serve on his local Board of Education this past election.
