International Education Week Plenary Address

For the International Education Week Plenary Address, Mary Thompson-Jones — career diplomat, professor at the U.S. Naval War College, and author/expert on U.S. foreign policy and the practice of diplomacy — will discuss “Study Abroad: Where to Next?”

Ten years ago, international education experts were pushing the boundaries of study abroad into the developing world. Fast forward a decade, and the newest trend de-emphasizes traditional nation-state boundaries altogether, focusing instead on global issues and global regions. Nowhere is this easier to accomplish than in the Arctic. Light refreshments will be served.
