William V. Shannon Lecture: ‘Do Rural Voters Hate Democrats?’

Dan Shea, chair and professor of government at Colby College, will deliver the Fall 2024 William V. Shannon ’47, LITT.D ’64, Lecture.

Shea’s areas of expertise are American Politics, Parties and Elections, U.S. Congress, Politics of the Media, Youth Political Engagement, and Civility in Politics. He has written or edited more than 20 books on American Politics. His books include “Why Vote? Essential Questions about the Future of Elections in America” (2019) and “The Rural Voter: The Politics of Place and the Disuniting of America” (2023).
