Ora Szekely had sequestered herself in Canada to finish writing her dissertation at McGill University when the Arab Spring uprisings erupted in 2010. Along with the rest of the world, she watched protesters’ self-made videos of the uprisings on Facebook, Twitter, and YouTube, a phenomenon she explores in her recent book, “Syria Divided: Patterns of Violence in a Complex Civil War.”

She discussed the book and the ongoing Syrian War during a recent talk for @goddardlibraryatclarku’s “Between the Lines: A Clark Author Series.”
