Members of our faculty — from a fungus expert to teachers of dystopian film
, games
, and books
— unravel the meaning and the madness behind our ongoing fascination with post-apocalyptic stories and what the video game-turned-HBO series @thelastofus teaches us about society, survival, systems, and self.

Clark University’s 121st Commencement will take place on Monday, May 19, at the @DCUCenter in downtown Worcester.
To ensure the occasion is both intimate and memorable, two ceremonies will be held: bachelor’s degrees will be awarded at 10 a.m., and master’s and doctoral degrees will be presented at 3 p.m.
In addition to recognizing graduating students’ achievements, Clark will award honorary degrees to two highly accomplished individuals: Esther Duflo, a Nobel Prize-winning economist who has dedicated her career to understanding the lives of people living in poverty, and @AriShapiro, an @NPR journalist whose award-winning work has taken him from Air Force One to the Arctic Circle.

Luke Kadria ’26 came to Clark never having danced before.
But he’s found his footing, and moves, as co-captain of @SalsaEncendida, a club that hosts high-powered dance shows and workshops featuring salsa, bachata, merengue, tango, and more.
Kadria and his fellow captains, Virginia Crispin Garcia ’26 and Natalia Caicedo ’25, will lead Salsa Encendida in its biggest event this semester — a performance at Worcester’s Mechanics Hall on Saturday, April 12.
