Historical background: The old town hall in Frankfurt was an example of the gothic half-timbered architecture in the old town district of Frankfurt. The old town hall in Frankfurt was bombed by the Allied forces and destroyed during WWII along with the rest of the old town. The postcard was printed for the Winter Relief of the German People.
