Historical Background:
Prior to Hitler’s reign in Germany, Berlin was selected as the host for the 1936 Summer Olympics. Once he and the Nazi party rose to power, the Olympics served as a critical opportunity to establish the nation as a global force. This postcard was sent a month after the event’s closing ceremony.
