Faculty and Staff Email

Faculty and staff have mailboxes on one of Clark's electronic mail servers. Clark University sends you electronic communications using this account. We cannot guarantee the delivery of email that is forwarded to a non-Clark email address. Clark-owned and managed computers have Outlook installed for your use. When off campus, you have a number of different options for checking your Clark email.

Web-Based Email

Outlook Web Access (OWA) allows you to access your email account via a web browser without configuring any settings or software. Outlook Web Access works in most browsers (Internet Explorer 11 requires compatibility view).

Email Clients

Your faculty/staff email can be retrieved using a number of different email clients such as Windows Mail, Entourage on a Mac, the new Outlook 2011 for Mac, ThunderBird, even mobile devices. All you need are the connection settings outlined below and the manufacturer directions provided along with your Clark Account username, password and domain: CLARKU. Note: Make sure you enter your full email address (for example, username@clarku.edu) as your user name.

IMAP setting

  • Server name: exchange.clarku.edu
  • Port: 993
  • Encryption method: SSL

POP setting

  • Server name: exchange.clarku.edu
  • Port: 995
  • Encryption method: SSL

SMTP setting

  • Server name: exchange.clarku.edu
  • Port: 587
  • Encryption method: TLS

About Virus Protection

Incoming and outgoing email on all servers are scanned for viruses at the server level. However, you should still maintain antivirus software on your computer. See the antivirus page for more information.
