Discounts, Services and Events for Faculty and Staff
---------------------------------------------------------------------------The following is a brief list of some of the additional services available to faculty and staff.
· AUTO/HOME INSURANCE: The University provides a convenient payroll deduction plan for auto and/or homeowners insurance. The Knight-Dik Insurance Agency currently administers the program, and offers Clark employees a 6% discount on insurance premiums, as well as no-interest payroll deductions. If you are interested or wish more information, call Knight-Dik @ 753-6353; identify yourself as a Clark faculty/staff member.
· DISCOUNT MOVIE TICKETS: Valid at Showcase Theaters, which include Showcase North, and Blackstone Valley Theater as well as some selected theaters outside the area. The current price is $7.75/ticket. Tickets may be purchased in the Human Resources Office. (Checks payable to Clark University or cash.) Please be prepared to show your employee Clark ID card when purchasing tickets.
· EMPLOYEE ASSISTANCE PROGRAM (EAP): The Wellness Corporation provides free confidential consultation and referral services to faculty and staff (and their family members) for just about any personal problem including: elder care issues, stress, alcohol/drug use, family and emotional difficulties, grief and loss, etc. It also includes help with personal legal problems, child care resources and referrals and help for debt and budget concerns. · HR ON-LINE: For the latest information on job vacancies, special events, new employees (and their phone numbers), we urge you to access the Human Resources WebPage: www.clarku.edu/hr.
· MASS BUYING POWER: Clark also holds a corporate membership with Mass Buying Power. This service provides you with significant discounts on the purchase of major appliances, home furnishings, autos, travel, etc. A brochure outlining the service is available in the Human Resources Office. You may call Mass Buying Power directly at 781-829-4900 for a referral certificate each time you want to buy. You may also access their web site at www.massbuy.com.
· OWNER/OCCUPANCY INCENTIVE PROGRAM: Full-time regular faculty and staff are eligible for a special incentive program if they purchase and reside in a home within a designated area around campus. The program provides a $5000 payment at the time of closing, and for the next 7 years after the purchase, a payment of 12% of base salary up to $4000. Specifics on program requirements are on file in the Human Resources Office. Jack Foley, Vice President for Government and Community Affairs and Campus Services, administers this program.
· SAVINGS BONDS: The University offers a payroll savings bond plan with the Federal Reserve Bank. Employees authorize the withholding of a portion of their wages for payroll savings bonds. Both Series EE and I Bonds are available. If you need more information about savings bonds you may access www.savingsbonds.gov.
· WORCESTER ART MUSEUM: As a Clark employee, you are provided with free admission to the Worcester Art Museum. The Office of Human Resources has institutional passes. Call Human Resources (ext. 7294) if you wish to borrow a pass.
