Housing Lottery
Room Selection
Housing Selection consists of the five processes listed at the left.  Which process is best for you depends on your current housing assignment, your future housing needs, and your interest level in the various housing options available.  Please read the information provided here to help you decide which process fits your needs best.  For complete details about Lottery and Housing Selection, download and print the 2008 Housing Selection Guide.

Same Room Selection

Same Room Sign-Up is for all residents wishing to remain in their current housing assignment for the 2008-2009 academic year. To apply for Same Room Sign-Up, please login to your My Lottery account.

Same Room Sign-up Deadline:  March 10, 2008

All students currently living in a hall/house room (except those living in Theme Housing, in an RA Apartment, Bullock Hall, Wright Hall, or Sanford Hall) who wish to return to their same community may reserve the space by participating in the “Same Room Sign-Up” process. You must be able to completely fill the room in order to sign-up during Same Room Sign-up.   If you sign up during the Same Room Sign-up process, you may not participate any further in the selection process and will not receive a Lottery Number for Lottery Night. *In the event that a space must be re-designated for administrative purposes (negating its availability to the current resident), you will be notified the week of March 24, 2008 and reassigned to a similar place elsewhere.

Please Note The Following

Any student living in a suite room must have 50% of the current residents remain and must fill the entire suite in order to participate in Same Room Sign-Up.  Spaces can be re-designated at any time during the Room Selection Process by the RLH Office.

Same Room Sign-Up Roommates and Suitemate Options

During "Same Room Sign-Up", a student may sign a new roommate into the room at the same time, IF a Room Wavier Form from the current roommate indicates that s/he will not be returning to that room. Forms are available on-line through My Lottery.  If a student does not fill this form out, you may NOT sign another student into that space.

Triple rooms may be selected during “Same Room Sign-Up” by a group of three students. At least one person must be returning to the triple room. Forms are available on-line through My Lottery.

Students living in a suite can do Same Room Sign-Up ONLY if 50% or more of the suite is returning to the same suite. (i.e. a 6-person suite can do Same Room Sign-up if at least 3 members of the suite are returning and the suitemates leaving sign the Room Waiver Form). You MUST fill the remaining spaces in your suite completely in order to secure the space. Forms are available on-line through My Lottery.

Single rooms in a suite can be filled during Same Room Sign-up. If, for example, you live in a 4-person suite and you and one other member of your suite are remaining in your double room and the 2 single rooms are available, you CAN sign your friends in to those singles. The students leaving will need to sign a waiver form. Forms are available on-line through My Lottery.

Students currently living in an apartment with an RA CAN NOT participate in Same Room Sign-Up. Students wishing to return to an RA suite will need to contact that RA in order to be included on their housing request list.

Students on leave may still sign-up during Same Room Sign-Up provided a waiver form is used to indicate a free and open space. If you intend to have a student on leave live with you, you will need to submit their paperwork along with the other members of the room / group.

Students being pulled into a space will complete the Same Room Sign-up process in My Lottery, and select the option that they are being pulled into the space.
