Housing Selection consists of the processes listed at the
left. Which process is best for you depends on your
current housing assignment, your future housing needs, and your
interest level in the various housing options available.
Please read the information provided here to help you decide
which process fits your needs best. |

Same Room Sign-Up
Same Room Sign-Up is for all residents wishing to remain in their current
housing assignment for the 2009-2010 academic year. To apply for Same Room Sign-Up,
please login to your My Lottery
account.
Same Room Sign-up Deadline: March 9, 2009
All students currently living in a hall/house room (except those living in
926 Main, 2 Downing, 112 Woodland, Johnson Hall, Theme Housing, in an RA Apartment, Bullock
Hall, Wright
Hall, or Sanford Hall - see exclusions below for more details) who wish to return to their
same community may reserve the space by participating in the “Same Room Sign-Up”
process. You must be able to completely fill the room in order to sign-up during
Same Room Sign-up. If you sign up during the Same
Room Sign-up process, you may not participate any further in the selection
process and will not receive a Lottery Number for Lottery Night. *In the event
that a space must be re-designated for administrative purposes (negating its
availability to the current resident), you will be notified the week of March 16, 2009 and reassigned to a similar
space elsewhere.
Please Note The Following
Any student living in a suite room must have 50% of the current residents remain
and must fill the entire suite in order to
participate in Same Room Sign-Up.
Spaces can be re-designated at any time during the Room Selection Process by the
RLH Office.
Same Room Sign-Up Roommates and Suitemate Options
During "Same Room Sign-Up", a student may sign a new roommate into the room
at the same time, IF a Room Wavier Form from the current roommate
indicates that s/he will not be returning to that room. Forms are available
on-line through My Lottery. If a student does not fill
this form out, you may NOT sign another student into that space.
Triple rooms may be selected during “Same Room Sign-Up” by a group of three
students. At least one person must be returning to the triple room. Forms are
available on-line through My
Lottery.
Students living in a suite can do Same Room Sign-Up ONLY if 50% or more of
the suite is returning to the same suite. (i.e. a 6-person suite can do Same
Room Sign-up if at least 3 members of the suite are returning and the suitemates
leaving sign the Room Waiver Form). You MUST fill the remaining spaces in your
suite completely in order to secure the space. Forms are available on-line
through My Lottery.
Single rooms in a suite can be filled during Same Room Sign-up. If, for
example, you live in a 4-person suite and you and one other member of your suite
are remaining in your double room and the 2 single rooms are available, you CAN
sign your friends in to those singles. The students leaving will need to sign a
waiver form. Forms are available on-line through
My Lottery.
Students on leave may still sign-up during Same Room Sign-Up provided a
waiver form is used to indicate a free and open space. If you intend to have a
student on leave live with you, you will need to submit their paperwork along
with the other members of the room / group.
Students being pulled into a space will complete the Same Room Sign-up
process in My Lottery,
and select the option that they are being pulled into the space.
Blackstone Hall Graduate Students
For 2009-2010, Graduate Students currently living in Blackstone Hall may
participate in the Same Room Sign-Up process under the same guidelines as the
undergraduate students must follow. Therefore in order for graduate
students to stay in their current assignment they must have at least 50% of
their apartment return, and they must fill the other spaces completely with
graduate or undergraduate students.
Exclusions
- Students living in Johnson Hall CAN NOT
participate in Same Room Sign-Up in order to allow for the transition of
Johnson Hall into a First Year/Transfer hall. Returning students wishing
to apply for Wellness Housing or to live in suites will need to select rooms
through the Lottery process, even if you currently live on the Wellness Floor.
We apologize for any inconvenience this causes, however it is necessary for
RLH to properly reallocate rooms for returning students and for incoming First
Year and Transfer students.
- Students living in 926 Main CAN NOT
participate in Same Room Sign-Up in order to allow for the transition of 926
Main into Graduate Housing.
- Students living in both 2 Downing and 112 Woodland CAN NOT
participate in Same Room Sign-Up in order to allow for the relocation of the
Quiet House to 112 Woodland. Students interested in continuing to live
in Wellness Housing should apply through the Lottery Process for a space in
112 Woodland.
- Students living in Wright, Bullock, or Sanford hall CAN NOT
participate in Same Room Sign-Up in order to allow the incoming first year
class to live there in the fall.
- Students currently living in an apartment with an RA CAN NOT
participate in Same Room Sign-Up. Students wishing to return to an RA suite will
need to contact that RA in order to be included on their housing request list.
