What is Circle Land?
Many of the processes that children encounter in their natural world are cyclic ones: their own pattern of waking and sleeping, the rising and the setting of the sun, and the natural rhythm of the seasons, to mention only a few. The notion of cycle - a path that repeats itself- is the central feature of Circle Land. Children develop spatial intuitions in Circle Land that become the foundation for - the many concepts in mathematics that deal with circular motion, pie charts, time, and number bases.
