Plan to bring your children to Reunion 2009? Let them enjoy Camp Clark while you reconnect with classmates!
Camp Clark is a fun and safe way for your children to be part of your Reunion weekend. Clark has contracted with
Children’s Conference Care Inc., a leader in child care for reunions and conferences throughout New England, to run Camp Clark, giving your children the opportunity to have their very own Clark experience. Recreational activities, board games, and arts and crafts will be available and, after viewing an evening video, younger children will have a space to rest or sleep. Camp Clark is for children ages 3 to 12 and includes meals and snacks.
Camp Clark has a separate registration form; preregistration is strongly encouraged as space is limited.
Click here to download the registration form (a .pdf file).
Career Services launches job/internship database
Job hunting? Have an internship to post? Head to the Clark Recruiter, the online job and internship database offered by Career Services. This database allows employers to post an internship, part-time, or full-time position, and allows Clark students and alumni to search for these positions.
To post an internship or job, please go to
http://www.clarku.edu/offices/career/ and click on the Clark Recruiter logo on the right-hand side of the page. Select “for employers” and register for a new account. Your account will be reviewed within one business day and you will receive a notice when it is approved. Once your account is approved, go to the Jobs/Internships tab and select “Add New.” A Single School Posting is free and advertised to all Clark students. You also have the option to select Multi-School Posting, which allows you to reach students from other colleges and universities around the country for a fee.
If you are an alumnus and would like to use the Clark Recruiter to search for jobs and internships, click on the Clark Recruiter logo and select “student/alumni.” Register for a new account and you will be approved within one business day. Go to the Jobs/Internships tab to begin your search!
If you have any questions about the Clark Recruiter database, please call Career Services at 508-793-7258 or e-mail
careers@clarku.edu.

Clarknews is on hiatus
Clarknews, the university's quarterly alumni
magazine, has provided news, features and information
about Clark and its faculty, students and alumni, in its
current format for many years.
But readers' preferences
and habits are changing, which means Clarknews needs to
change, too. We’ve put the magazine on hiatus in order
to focus on creating a fresh, revitalized alumni
magazine that meets your needs. We’ll be seeking your
help throughout the summer.
Until then, head to Clark
Voices at http://clarkvoices.clarku.edu, where you can
read about Clark alumni under the "stories" link.
We
invite your feedback and ideas at any time. Feel free to
call Tracie Sweeney, director of communications, at
508-793-7791, send e-mail to
tsweeney@clarku.edu, or
write to her care of Marketing and Communications, 950
Main St., Worcester, MA 01610-1477.
All a-Twitter at ClarkMatters
If you are one of the millions of people using Twitter, be sure to follow
ClarkMatters. We recently “live tweeted” from Academic Spree Day. It’s a fun way to stay connected to Clark—140 characters at a time.
If video’s more your style, don’t forget Clark’s YouTube channel. You’ll find a range of subjects at
http://www.youtube.com/clarkuniversity. The newest: “Discover the Clarkie,” the award-winning spoof by Adam LeFebvre ’10.
Scholarly pursuits
Clark is among the institutions taking the lead in reimagining education in the 21st century. This past March, 30 leaders in higher education traveled to campus for a conference on “Liberal Education and Effective Practice,” was co-sponsored by Clark University, its Mosakowski Institute for Public Enterprise, and the Association of American Colleges and Universities. Summaries of several papers commissioned for the conference are available
online.
The following month, researchers from around the world gathered at Clark for the first-ever international doctoral students’ conference on Holocaust and genocide studies. A look at the
conference program merely hints at the topics covered by the groundbreaking research. The conference was sponsored by the Strassler Family Center for Holocaust and Genocide Studies.
