State of the University
President John Bassett gave his annual State of the University address to faculty and staff on Thursday, Feb. 12. Bassett said this year’s report was an “unusual report for him to give,” as it was also strongly influenced by the state of the economy.
He still had favorable highlights to recount as he addressed Clark’s current financial health and the steps that will be taken to ensure Clark’s future success. To learn more, read the State of the University address

Election 2008
"I have never seen this level of student activism at this University,” says student council president Abhishek Raman ’09 about the recent election of Barack Obama. “Especially, as an international student, seeing the Republicans, Democrats and Independents come together in a celebration of an historic milestone in American history was an unforgettable experience. More students marched to the President's house after the election than went after the Red Sox won in 2004!” From Worcester to Washington, D.C., Clark students share their excitement as they witnessed—and participated in—this remarkable election season and historic inauguration. Theodore H. Barth Foundation Summer Internships
This summer, seven Clark students embarked on internships through the generous support Theodore H. Barth Foundation. The Barth Foundation awarded a $15,000 grant to help students pursue summer internships in the nonprofit sector. In addition to the initial $15K from Barth to pilot the program in Career Services in summer 2008, Clark received an additional $15,000 in December to support internships for summer 2009 from Clark Trustees Larry Franks M.A. ’73 and his wife Ellen Berelson. After a competitive application process with 32 submitted proposals, seven students were selected by Career Services. The students pursued internships in Worcester, New York City, St. Paul, Minnesota, Hong Kong and Taiwan in a wide variety of nonprofit organizations.
