All Kinds of Girls (AKOG)

All Kinds of Girls is a group mentor program for Worcester girls run by Clark women undergraduates through the Women's Studies Program. AKOG's mission is to develop girls' self esteem through games, improvisation, arts and crafts, group discussion and other activities.

All Things Fashion

All Things Fashion Club is dedicated to providing the Clark community with fun, interesting, and awareness-building activities involving fashions in clothing, food, music, and other tastes. We pride ourselves on being a fun, active group that takes the ideas of every member and turns them into engaging activity. Of course, all Clark students are welcome at all of our meetings and we have been known to bring in cookies and candy now and again! New doors are always opening for us, as we begin to plan off-campus field trips to New York fashion shows, and continue to make connections within the fashion elite of Clark, Worcester and beyond.

American Red Cross Clark University (ARCCU)

American Red Cross Clark University seeks to assist the American Red Cross in its mission to prevent and alleviate human suffering. Members create student-designed and organized activities on and off campus to help fulfill the organization's mission. Currently members are involved in the Disaster Action Team with the local ARC chapter, responding to emergencies in the Worcester area.

Amnesty International

Amnesty International is a human-rights organization that is recognized globally. Clark's Amnesty chapter is dedicated to raising awareness about human-rights abuses around the world and petitioning for the release of prisoners of conscience who have neither used nor advocated violence, for fair and prompt trials for all political prisoners, and for an end to torture and execution in all cases. Some of the campaigns that Clark's Amnesty chapter has worked on are Stopping Violence Against Women, Conflict Diamonds, Darfur, and freeing Prisoners of Conscience throughout the world.

Asian Culture Society

Founded in 1986, the Asian Culture Society enhances the Clark community by providing opportunities to experience Asian cultures. It has also worked in conjunction with other organizations to sponsor international cultural celebrations.

Bahá'í Campus Association

The Bahá'í Campus Association offers the Clark community a variety of ongoing programs and events based on the principles of the Bahá'í Faith. These programs are designed to explore the purpose of spirituality, serve the community, and initiate dialogue about the connection between spirituality and issues facing students and the world.

Best Buddies

Best Buddies is an international organization whose purpose is to enhance the lives of people with intellectual disabilities. Clark students will be matched one on one with an individual from the Worcester community with an intellectual disability. They will form a mutual friendship and will stay in weekly contact, as well as meet three times a month.

Black Student Union (BSU)

The Black Student Union provides greater communication and unity among students by sharing cultural pride and promoting cultural awareness in the Clark community.

C.A.R.E Initiative (CARE)

The Community Action, Reform, and Education Initiative is a student organization that works within the local community to help solve the issues of hunger and homelessness.

Caesura Literary Magazine

Published annually, Caesura is Clark University's literary magazine, consisting of fine poetry, prose, essays, and creative non-fiction written by Clark grads and undergrads.

Campus Accountability Now! (CAN!)

Campus Accountability Now! (CAN!) aims to hold the Clark community accountable to the global community. The goal of the group is to promote fair and just business practices on campus.

Candelas

Clark Candelas provides New York Mambo style Salsa lessons and performances to the Clark community. Professional dancer Javier Salort teaches weekly lessons open to all levels. He also coordinates the Clark Candelas performance team, which holds dance shows on and off campus.

Capoeira Club

The Capoeira Club provides students with the opportunity to learn a unique art form from Brazil. Capoeira is an electrifying mix of Afro-Brazilan music, martial arts, and dance. It is rich with Brazilian culture and attitude, yet encourages each participant to find their own self expression within it. Through the club students are welcomed to participate in weekly instruction with a Master of the art and native Brazilian, Mestre Loka. The club also gives students a chance to be involved in the local Capoeira community and events both on and off campus. The Capoeira Club's invites all Clark students year round to check it out or to join!

Caribbean African Student Association (CASA)

CASA aims to create and reinforce the sense of Caribbean and African cultural identity by eliminating cultural stereotypes and encouraging members to broaden their cultural perspectives. Through weekly meetings and regular events, CASA promotes cultural growth among Clark students, students in the Colleges of the Worcester Consortium and members of the greater Worcester community. Also with an annual charity project, CASA members help to organize and raise money and/or necessary supplies for the prospective charity project.

Chamber Ensembles

The Chamber Ensembles rehearse and perform musical works for the Clark community. The Chamber Ensembles are made up of members of the Clark community and are directed by professional conductors who serve as artistic directors and faculty advisers. Chamber Ensembles consists of three primarily independent organizations: Concert Band, consisting of woodwinds, brass, and percussion; Sinfonia consisting of strings and brass; and Small Ensembles, which vary in makeup from semester to semester.

CHOICES

CHOICES, an on-campus peer sexual health resource, strives to provide the Clark community with sexual health information, supplies to promote safer sex, and education in regards to informed choices about sex and healthy relationships within a pro-sexuality, respectful, safe environment.

Christian Campus Ministry

This interdenominational group provides a supportive and nurturing Christian community on campus. The ministry also aims to show how Biblical Christianity speaks to personal and corporate needs within the Clark community.

Clark Bars

Clark Bars is a small, a cappella singing group open to all members of the Clark community. It is a co-ed and student-directed group that focuses on performing modern or "pop" music.

Clark Cable Network (CCN)

CCN is a student-run television station that broadcasts a variety of films and student-produced shows to all Clark residence halls. Movies and shows are broadcast 24/7 during the school year. Students are encouraged to submit their own short films or shows to be aired on the station. CCN can be found on channel 11 in any residence hall.

Clark Concert Choir and Chamber Chorus

The Concert Choir rehearses and performs choral music throughout the year and is directed by a faculty member. The Concert Choir allows students to interact with each other while learning singing techniques such as sight-reading. and diverse types of music. The Chamber Chorus is a smaller group of singers who are selected from the Concert Choir.

Clark Snowboard Association

The Clark Snowboard Association schedules mid-week trips to local mountains and weekend trips to more northern locations and provides training for those who desire it. Beginner, recreational and serious snowboarders are welcome.

Clark Undergraduate Geography Association (CUGA)

CUGA is dedicated to enriching and expanding the experiences of students interested in the fields of geography and global environmental studies by bringing speakers to campus, attending professional conferences, and providing various unique events on the University campus.

Clark University Brothers and Sisters (CUBS)

The CUBS program creates a stronger sense of community between Clark students and the children in the Main South neighborhood. This mentor program pairs a Clark student with a little brother or sister.

CUFS is a student-run organization dedicated to the appreciation of film by the campus community. CUFS provides students with the opportunity to see films that are harder to find in public venues, such as foreign or art-house films.

Clark University Football (Soccer) Club

More people watch the World Cup than the Superbowl, the World Series, the NBA Finals and the Olympics combined. This is because there is only one truly global sport--football. The Clark Univeristy Football Club gathers football (futbol) fans at Clark to watch and discuss football from around the world. Matches are shown both on and off campus, the Club can also provide a forum for organizing a kick around on the green or in the gym. Long-time fans of the sport and novices are welcome to join us and enjoy the 'Beautiful Game'.

Clark University Golf Association

Golf is a game of honor and integrity. Players are responsible for calling penalties on themselves as well as keeping their own score. This separates golf from all other sports. The Clark University Golf Club is committed to the University mission of integrating high-quality student learning with the development of the whole person. The lessons of golf are an integral part of the total educational experience and contribute to, as well as enhance, the quality of University life in many ways. The Club teaches fellow members camaraderie, competition and honor.

Clark University High School Partnership (CUHSP)

The organization reaches out to high school students within the Worcester area (namely University Park Campus School and Claremont Academy), matching them up in small groups or one on one with Clark University students, in order to supply a glimpse of the social atmosphere of a college environment. The goals of the program are:
* To provide neighborhood high school students with a unique personal opportunity to discuss college academic preparation and transition
* To provide neighborhood high school students with guided access to public campus facilities and appropriate events, in order to familiarize them with college intellectual and cultural life.
* To encourage and support neighborhood high school students in their preparation for college.
* To give Clark students an opportunity to learn about neighborhood life and aspirations.

Clark University Players Society (CUPS)

As the oldest student group on campus, CUPS produces short plays and workshops, and provides an avenue for students to learn about the different aspects of theater.

Clark University Pool Club (CUPC)

The goals of the Clark University Pool Club (CUPC) are to facilitate both recreational and competitive pool playing through improving facilities and providing an outlet for students to engage in pool activities; and to arrange and administer pool tournaments at Clark University.

Clark University Slam Poetry Team

The Slam Poetry Team fosters creative expression by fusing performance and writing into the Poetry Slam, a friendly competition in an open, relaxed atmosphere.

Clark University Track & Field Club

The Track and Field Club provides the opportunity for Clark men and women to train for and compete in intercollegiate track meets during the indoor and outdoor seasons.

Clark University Unitarian Universalist Campus Fellowship (CUUUCF)

CUUUCF seeks to create an environment where students can gather for worship, service, pastoral care, community and interfaith dialogue with like-minded individuals.

Counterpoints

The Counterpoints is Clark's all-female, student-directed a cappella group that focuses on performing contemporary music. The group allows members to develop their own musical and organizational talents while actively performing at Clark, in Worcester and at other colleges.

Dance Society

The Dance Society gives male and female students the opportunity to become involved in dance, and to choreograph and perform in its annual fall and spring productions.

Debate Society

The Debate Society is a student-run, student-based organization that allows students to improve their abilities in the areas of public speaking and research methods. The society also competes in intercollegiate tournaments.

Democrats of Clark University (DCU)

DCU strives to create a forum for the communication of democratic moral, ethical and political values by inviting speakers to the Clark campus. DCU also helps campaigns on the local, state and federal level.

Direct Action Learning Experience (DA-LE)

The mission of DA-LE is to provide experiential-learning opportunities for Clark Students through cross-cultural and service-oriented experiences such as alternative spring breaks or semester group projects. The goals of these direct-action learning experiences are to initiate discussion, action, and reflection on the dynamics between the social challenges in the United States and other countries; to provide members of the Clark community with an authentic, first-hand experience of social challenges and change; and to develop character and a sense of global citizenship within the participants. In the past, students have traveled to Nicaragua over spring break with DA-LE.

Economics Society

The Economics Society at Clark University serves as a forum for undergraduates interested in the field of economics. Our activities include regular meetings, seminars, discussions with professional economists and closer interaction with the economics department faculty.

Emergency Medical Services (EMS)

Clark University Emergency Medical Services is a student-run volunteer organization comprised of both EMTs and First Responders. We provide services for the entire University community and are on call and available 24 hours a day/ 7 days a week when classes are in session.

Equestrian Club

The Equestrian Club allows members of the Clark community to pursue their interest in horsemanship. Members participate in weekly hunt-seat lessons with Coach Michelle O'Connell and compete in intercollegiate horse shows.

Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual, and Transgendered Alliance (GLBTA)

GLBTA serves the gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender communities. Allies of GLBT students are also a substantial part of the group, and aid in efforts to educate and spread awareness of GLBT issues. Members are dedicated to improving tolerance in the Clark community and universally through speakers and events.

Hillel

Clark Hillel is the student group that celebrates Jewish culture, identity, pluralism, and community. Our programs include a wide range of Jewish holiday services, social events, informal classes, and social action programs. We aspire to integrate students with the local Jewish community and to encourage the development of their leadership skills and Judaic knowledge. We work to educate the entire community, Jews and non-Jews, about Jewish history, culture and religion. We try to present a model of Judaism that is inclusive, joyful, and fun.

Hip Hop Collabo

Hip Hop Collabo is a student-run dance group that draws on hip hop, R&B, and reggae music for inspiration and rhythm. We come from culturally diverse backgrounds and we all share a love for hip hop music and dance. Auditions are held in the fall, and throughout the year we choreograph, learn from each other and have fun. At the end of each semester we perform for family, friends, and the Clark community. Ice Hockey Club

The Ice Hockey Club promotes ice hockey at Clark. The team maintains the program on the national club level, improves members' hockey skills and provides an arena for competitive, collegiate-level hockey.

The Initial Advantage is a group of individuals strongly committed to academics, with a serious focus and interest in pursuing a career in the field of entrepreneurship.

Jazz Workshop

This organization provides students an opportunity to rehearse and perform jazz. The Jazz Workshop is open to players of all abilities, and strives to increase jazz awareness and appreciation in its members and throughout the Clark community. The group performs both on and off campus throughout the year.

Karate Club

The Karate Club promotes the mental, physical and social welfare of its members through the study of the martial arts.

Clark's Musical Theater Union is devoted to providing students, faculty and the community an opportunity to perform in and enjoy a unique and significant art form.

Muslim Cultural Society (MCS)

Formerly the Muslim Students' Association, the Muslim Cultural Society (MCS) is committed to giving students at Clark a positive and realistic depiction of Muslims around the world. The MCS aims to bring the best of Muslim culture to the Clark Community and welcomes people from all backgrounds to come and revel in the heritage of the one of the world's oldest religions.

Newman Association

The Newman Association of Catholic Students is a religious organization that serves the spiritual, social and emotional needs of Catholic members of the Clark community.

The Outing Club enables students to experience nature and integrate it into their lives through a wide spectrum of outings, trips and other related activities.

Peaceworks

Peaceworks members are dedicated to advocacy, education and action for a peaceful, just and equitable society. Members work on local and international issues with a focus on creating strong communities.

Philosophy Club

The Philosophy Club hosts weekly lectures and informal discussions on all topics of speculative interest, theoretical and substantive.

Pre-Law Society

The Pre-Law Society gives undergraduate students that are interested in law school and a career in law the opportunity to interact with peers on a regular basis. This includes events like alumni panels, law school admissions panels, law school fairs, LSAT practice tests, etc. The Pre-Law Society works closely with Career Services, Alumni Relations, and the Law and Society faculty.

Pub Entertainment Committee (PEC)

PEC provides the Clark community with entertaining and diverse live music and serves to help establish the Clark music community.

Republicans of Clark (RoC)

Republicans of Clark provides a central organization for the Clark community to become actively involved in sharing and promoting conservative ideas and concepts.

Residence Hall Association (RHA)

The Residence Hall Association represents the needs and wants of the resident student population. RHA sponsors programming to promote community, diversity and awareness. It also serves as an advocacy organization for students living in residence halls and houses.

RFSinc

RFSinc provides opportunities to student-run productions in theater, video, multimedia (be creative) that may otherwise be overlooked by Clark. Historically, it sponsors the improv comedy group, the Peapod Squad, as well as the annual stand-up comedy show.

Rotaract is a community-service organization that gives students the opportunity to volunteer for many community-based projects.

Science-Fiction People of Clark (SPOC)

Like games? SPOC is Clark University's premier student organization for gamers of all types. From video games to board games to paper and pencil role-playing games, SPOC does it all.

South Asian Students Association (SASA)

Since 2005, The South Asian Students Association (SASA) at Clark University has served as a platform for students, faculty and community members to engage with South Asia and its Diaspora through academic, political, outreach, social and cultural initiatives. Every year we seek to bring members of the SASA community closer together with a variety of dances, study breaks, lectures, movie nights and various other social activities, thereby allowing members to develop bonds that will last long beyond their time at Clark.

We strengthen the connection of shared experiences that alumni and current students have with Clark. We endeavor as a team to create an enthusiastic environment through hard work, dedication and commitment, while developing personal-networking skills and connections with alumni and peers.

The Student Council advances the interests of students and ensures that students play a vital role in decisions at the University. Student Council members work to maximize student influence at Clark. Elections are held each semester.

Students Against Destructive Decisions (SADD)

SADD members promote safe lifestyles and good decision making in all parts of life, but specifically relating to high-risk activities such as drugs, alcohol, sex and violence. SADD's mission is to spread awareness of the risks of such activities and provide alternatives to these activities in the Clark community.

Students Taking Action Now: Darfur (STAND)

STAND : A Student Anti-Genocide Coalition is an umbrella organization of over 600 high school and college chapters dedicated to putting an end to genocide, specifically the current genocide in Darfur, Sudan. This is the Clark University chapter.

Students United in Realizing the Vision (SURV)

SURV is a service organization that promotes healthy relationship-building and character development at its core. We practice living for the sake of others by volunteering in the community and we promote pure love relationships and character education through a series of presentation and discussion sessions for students on campus.

Tae Kwon Do

The Tae Kwon Do Club is dedicated to the study of Korean martial arts. Students learn self defense and enhance fitness in a supportive, yet challenging environment.

The Scarlet

The Scarlet is Clark's weekly, student-produced newspaper.

TOPICS: Dealing with Dating Violence

TOPICS (Training, Outreach, Prevention, Intervention, Counseling, and Support): Dealing with Dating Violence educates Clark, the Colleges of Worcester Consortium, and the Worcester community about dating and domestic violence. TOPICS provides confidential services for survivors in these communities. TOPICS has trained dating violence/domestic violence advocates who can be contacted at our confidential e-mail address.

United Planet Ambassadors

The mission of the United Planet (UP) Ambassadors' Club is to promote cross-cultural understanding and friendship, support communities in need, and promote social and economic prosperity among cultures in order to unite the world in a community beyond borders. We undertake a diverse and creative range of educational, humanitarian, and peace-building initiatives. Our events are designed to expose our common human bonds and foster respect and appreciation for our cultural, racial, and religious diversity, while improving and enriching lives worldwide.

University Center Activities Board (UCAB)

UCAB's mission is to ensure that there is late-night programming in the University Center every Thursday, Friday and Saturday by planning events and working with other groups to aid in their own event planning. We work to promote a variety of programs appealing to all members of the Clark student community.

Variant Dance Troupe

Variant Dance Troupe provides a fun, open atmosphere for anyone who wants to make a commitment to dance, whether they have experience or not. We are a performance-based group, working each semester on a variety of styles of dances, including lyrical, modern, jazz, tap, ballet and hip hop.

Volleyball Club

Persistence, discipline and determination are the key ingredients to our recipe for excellence here at Clark. Our club strives to teach basic skills and further develop those of advanced players. It creates an equal opportunity for all to play socially or at the highest competitive level as part of the NECVL (www.NECVL.org).

VOX: Voices for Choices (VOX)

VOX educates the University community about reproductive health and rights, translates increased awareness into pro-choice activism on campus, and serves as a coalition partner to Planned Parenthood and to state, national and international reproductive- rights efforts.

Water Watch

Clark Water Watch works with the Clark campus and the greater Worcester community to raise awareness about water quality and to organize conservation and rehabilitation programs for Worcester waterways. This includes teaching at local schools, sitting on boards of conservation commissions, orchestrating clean-ups, and volunteering at campus- and city-wide events.

Women's Lacrosse Club

The Women's Lacrosse Club encourages students to pursue this sport.

Worcester Collegiate Christian Network (WCCN)

WCCN is a positive presence on Clark campus and the greater Worcester community with the goal of sharing the message and ministry of Jesus Christ. Events are open to all students, but cater to Christians and students who are interested in learning about Christianity.
