- Management of NGO Organization
This course explores advanced knowledge in NGO studies, which in turn will be able to offer inspiring perspectives, theories, and skills for sustainable development and environmental justice. It focuses on 1) history and political economy of NGOs, 2) roles, strengths and limitations of NGOs in food security, humanitarian assistance, public and reproductive health, microfinance, human rights, peace building and conflict resolution, children’s rights, housing, water and sanitation, HIV/AIDS, sex and drug trafficking, advocacy, good governance, corporate social responsibility, and education, and skills necessary for effective planning, implementation and evaluation of NGO projects. The course is designed as a seminar course. It will draw on case studies from many different parts of the world.
