Mustika Widodo (IDSC '2013)

Mustika Widodo (Indonesia) received her BBA in International Marketing and minor in Entrepreneurship Business Management from the Zicklin School of Business at Baruch College, City University of New York in 2003. During her undergraduate studies and after graduation, she interned and worked in the field of marketing, trade and management before she returned to Indonesia. In 2006, she worked as a Customs Technical Officer at the ASEAN (Association of South East Asian Nations) Secretariat in Jakarta. The ASEAN Secretariat is a non-profit regional organization aimed to promote the integration and acceleration of economic growth, political stability and social justice among the 10 ASEAN member states, as well as narrowing the development gap within the region. Her growing sense of curiosity in global issues eventually drove her to join the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia in 2009. In 2011, she was fortunate to obtain a Fulbright Scholarship which led her to pursue the Masters program at IDCE. Mustika is fond of traveling, learning new cultures and enjoys performing arts. Her research interest includes policy reforms, gender equity, education, women’s empowerment, peace/conflict negotiation, human rights and understanding democracy in the context of developing countries. .
