Joshua Plisinski (GISDE '2012)

Joshua Plisinski (USA) graduated from Clark in 2009 with a major in geography and a minor in history. Since graduation, Plisinski has worked in UMASS Medical's Geography Health Lab in Worcester Mass., and at the International Livestock Research Institutes (ILRI), in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. His most recent work has focused on the estimation of livestock feed deficits through the remote sensing of pasture growth. His current research interests include: the development of Livestock Early Warning Systems (LEWS) to mitigate the effects of drought, the use of GIS to assist in the clearing of landmines from conflict zones, and the analysis of local crime patterns around Clark University.
